J80 Sailboat Parts and Equipment

Class Description

Numbers highlight the reason: The 1,440 lb. lead keel with bulb on the J/80 weighs nearly the same as the leading competitor's entire boat. No question, stability is the most important standard when it comes to a forgiving design, family sailing fun and sailing in open waters. No wonder the J/80 continues to be the fastest growing one-design sportboat class in Europe and America, it's a joy to sail in winds from 5 to 25+ knots! There are currently 1,500 J/80s sailing in 30 fleets in 12 countries, with large J/80 fleets existing in North America, Europe and China. The J/80 Class and its builders have provided J/80s for womenís and menís regattas for over 15 years. The J/80 has been used actively in match racing as well; including the BMW Berlin Match Race in Berlin, Germany; the World Match Race Sailing Association event in Le Havre, France; and the China Cup Match Race in Xiamen, China. If you're looking for a great class to get involved in, look no further than the International J/80.
