Fiddle Blocks

Fiddle Blocks have two sets of sheaves, allowing you to run the line down and back up into the block again to increase purchase on the line. Fiddle blocks can be used to provide extra purchase in mainsheet systems, boomvangs, cunninghams, outhauls, backstays, and other control lines on a cruising or racing sailboat.

Antal Fiddle Blocks
Antal OPF Series Fiddle Blocks feature Antal's "One Piece Frame" construction, meaning a strong, lightweight block with no pins or screws to hold it together. The OPF Fiddle blocks come in a range of sizes for applications on just about any sized sailboat. Antal "Composite Fibre" Fiddle blocks use sheaves on composite fiber bearings and double self-captive Delrin ball thrust bearings. These maxi fiddle blocks are extremely strong, yet still lightweight and easy top dismantle for cleaning and servicing.

Harken Fiddle Blocks
The Harken Carbo Ratchamatic® is a load-sensing ratchet block that rolls freely in both directions under low loads and automatically engages the ratchet as loads increase. Shifting between ratchet and light-air modes is seamless. Unloaded main sheets run out freely during mark roundings. Ratchet engagement may be adjusted to a higher or lower load according to strength and sailing style. The holding power of the 57 mm is as high as 10:1. For the ultimate system, mount a Harken Ratchamatic® on the boom above a cockpit-mounted switchable ratchet to allow the mainsheet to run freely in light air and to double holding power in heavy air. Harken Black Magic Spriddle Blocks feature teflon roller bearings for strength and reduced wear. Sideload bearings are protected by aluminum sideplates. Harken ESP Fiddle Blocks are perfect for mainsheets systems on cruising boats from 35' to 45', with the staniless steel versions adding a classic look to your yacht.

Lewmar Fiddle Blocks
The HTX Lewmar Block range is the result of years of design and manufacturing experience, combined with collaboration with boat builders, designers, and sailors. Drawing upon the design of the racing range of sailboat blocks, the Lewmar HTX fiddle blocks are constructed from a minimal number of alloy parts, providing enhanced reliability when sailing.  Lewmar Mid Range Fiddle Blocks are designed to achieve the best strength-to weight ratio within legal race limits. These sailboat blocks feature alloy cheeks and composite sheaves which run on dual Delrin ball races. They range in size from 60 mm to 80 mm.  Lewmar Synchro Fiddle Blocks are engineered for speed, efficiency and superior handling. These blocks suit a range of purposes from performance cruising yachts to specific high-load low-movement applications on racing sailboats.

Ronstan Fiddle Blocks
Ronstan Core Fiddle Blocks feature a tuned 2-stage bearing system, providing excellent performance across the full working load range for dynamic and static loads. Ronstan All Purpose Fiddle Blocks feature self-lubricating Acetal polymer sheaves running on polished stainless steel races. Orbit Fiddle Blocks from Ronstan come in ball bearing and roller bearing varieties, and are extremely lightweight and strong, making them ideal for a range of applications. Spreacher blocks can accommodate a second spinnaker sheet for sail changes or for outboard genoa sheets on race boats. Ronstan Utility Fiddle Blocks have stainless steel cheeks and Acetal sheaves to ensure a long service life with virtually no maintenance.

Schaefer Fiddle Blocks
Schaefer fiddle blocks are available for Schaefer's 2-, 3-, 5-, and 7-series and up. Smaller fiddle blocks are perfect for vangs, outhauls, backstays, cunninghams, and other control blocks on a variety of sailboats. Larger fiddle blocks from Schaefer offer high strength to weight ratios, resulting in highly refined and reliable blocks for mainsheets, boomvangs, and backstays.
