| About the J 24 One Design |
The International j 24 first launched back in 1976, is built in the U.S., Japan, Australia and Italy and has more than 25,000 people sailing 5,300 boats in 150 fleets in 40 countries.
Attention to the rules and strict international control provides close racing and attracts the world's top sailors. The j24 is also popular with weekend club sailors because it is fun, responsive in all conditions, and can be easily handled by one or two people.
The class has wisely allowed the development of new hardware systems to keep the boat up-to-date and easy-to-race. Normally crewed by 5 persons is an strict One Design class, which allows minimum improvements to the boat, trying to keep the competition as fair as possible.

Juan Mauri has been involved the class for almost 20 years, and always at a very high level. In early 2000 he wrote for Doyle Sails their J-24 Tuning Guide, and now he is back and very active in the class. He is always looking ways to upgrade the J-24 deck layout and it’s trimming systems.
