About CDI Flexible Furler:
In designing the Flexible Furler, CDI focused
on the vast majority of sailors who are primarily cruisers
or daysailors. They might race but only casually. These sailors
have boats under 40 feet long and want to enjoy sailing from
the cockpit rather than going forward while underway.
Cruiser and Daysailors want the reliability of a solidly built
furler/reefing system backed by an unbelievably comprehensive
warranty and yet do not want to spend a lot of time and money
buying or maintaining their equipment.
The Flexible Furler is used on daysailers as well as offshore
passage makers, monohulls and multihulls. It is used by production
boat builders and is also great as a retrofit. The flexible
luff extrusion makes it the best choice for trailerables.
Whether large or small, your cruising boat or daysailer should
have a furling system. Going forward on any size boat is potentially
wet and often dangerous, particularly if your crew is inexperienced.
Changing sails as the wind comes up is not a lot of fun! The
Flexible Furler can be used to both furl and reef your sail
in any wind condition.
CDI Flexible Furler has eliminated expensive
features only hard-core racers demand, thereby increasing
the system's reliability while lowering the cost. As proof
of the success of this design, Practical Sailor reports 100%
of Flexible Furler owners surveyed would buy their Flexible
Furler again if they had the choice.

About
Harken Furling Units:
More features than any other
company, plus a 7 year warranty makes the Harken® difference.
For over 20 years, Harken® furling systems have quietly
gone about the job of enabling sailors to furl and unfurl
sails from the cockpit.
1. Reliable Foil Joints. Interlocking shapes prevent twisting
so foils withstand years of use. Powerful adhesive completely
covers connectors to spread load evenly over joint. Screws
provide permanent lock.
2. Better Sail Shape. Swivels at head and tack turn separately
to flatten and depower the sail so you can point higher and
heel less while sailing upwind.
3. Ball Bearings. Free-rolling Torlon® ball bearings minimize
friction.
4. Wide Inner Spool. Wide inner spool increases mechanical
advantage for more pulling power.
About Profurl Roller Furling
Units:
The
testing ground of Profurl products has long been the world's
oceans in their most extreme conditions. Single handed around
the world races, trans-oceanic multihull speed records, Arctic
and Antarctic expeditions have given Profurl a valuable store
of knowledge to create one of the best furling units on the
market.
PROFURL Basic Models: Suitable for boats from 5 to
13.50 m (15 to 44 ft) LOA
A very competitively priced range with Profurl's high standard
of quality.
Basic Profurl systems are designed for coastal or mid-range
cruising.
PROFURL
Classic Models:Several hundreds of PROFURL electric
or hydraulic genoa reefing systems have been supplied over
the past 13 years, making PROFURL the first manufacturer of
this type of systems in the world.
The main features of these systems are a high output and a
great reliability. This new range of PROFURL motorised systems
includes the very latest improvements in modern technology,
allowing for a compact and modern design.
About Schaefer Furling Units:
Schaefer Roller Furling / Reefing allows you
to set, furl and reef your genoa from the safety and convenience
of the cockpit. You no longer need to scramble forward to
hank on your luff or "tame the beast" of a flailing
genoa dropped on the foredeck. Best of all, it's a one person
job to handle even your big 150% genoa.
All Schaefer Systems are designed to be one of the strongest,
best performing furling systems you can install on your boat.
Combined with one "wide range" reefing sail, Schaefer
Roller Furling / Reefing Systems can do the work of three
or four conventional sails. Sailmakers can modify your existing
sail or build a single sail that can perform well in winds
from 0 to 35 knots.
From
years of research Schaefer has developed a combination of
features that rival any furler, at any price. That's because
Schaefer has designed in, and improved, all the useful features
of the world's best rated furlers and eliminated the ideas
that didn't make sense.
The results is a furler that's not only strong, but easy to
control, smooth and reliable. A proven design with thousands
of miles of blue-water cruising - including the grueling Around
Alone Race.
Whether you're upgrading your present boat or outfitting a
new one, you'll have confidence knowing you've chosen one
of the best jib furling/reefing system available. A furler
with the trusted Schaefer name.
Bearing Design: Open For Life
Schaefer's Torlon™ bearings cannot corrode and ride
in open, easily accessible races that don't require lubrication.
These proven, high compression strength bearings provide low
friction, and need only periodic flushing with water.
Headstay Adjustment: No Compromises
Schaefer Systems utilize your existing headstay and turnbuckle
for reduced cost, full turnbuckle adjustability, and optimum
performance. Schaefer heavy-duty base toggle/link articulates
to absorb side loads that might otherwise cause turnbuckle
fatigue. Your turnbuckle is attached to the base toggle/link
and is housed by the system, easily accessible.
Drum Design: Powerful, Open, Metal
Schaefer powerful, large diameter drum provides you with the
mechanical advantage you need for high sailing loads. Standard
split drum plates allow for easy conversion to a full length
headsail. Attractive, stainless cage is open to give easy
access to the furling line.
Schaefer's CNC machined metal construction resists ultraviolet
rays and abuse from anchor chains and poles mounted near the
stemhead fitting.
