Most Schaefer sailboat blocks are constructed of tumbled and polished stainless steel. High impact Delrin sheaves turn on polished, stainless spacers to function with a minimum of friction, even under heavy loading.

Schaefer Footblocks
 Schaefer's convenient "strip from the top" design allows complete disassembly without removal of the deck mounted base plate. Countersunk flush fasteners and a unique, anti-rotation sheave pin keyed into the underside of the top plate provides a smooth surface to eliminate chafe and fouled lines. Low friction, ball-bearing sheaves contain Schaefer's Nomex/Teflon self-lubricating bearing.
