As
in many other years proud Island Packet owners meet for one of their
annual Rendezvous. From Oct. 12 thru Oct. 14 they sail the waters of
the Galveston Bay and had their boats shown at the Lakewood Yacht Club.
There were as many deck layouts and trimming systems as boats were present
but they all have one thing in common and it was how clean the boats
were presented and the look of pride of each owner and their crew.
Last
October we were invited to be one of the main sponsors for this year
Fort Worth Boat Club - Ol' Man of the Sea regatta. Conditions were perfect!
20 to 25 knots for both days, 80 to 85 degrees. Lots of boats, lots
of sailors and lots of classes show up but for us there was something
that made this regatta a special one.... we meet Nathan, a kid around
10, 11 years old, probably 85 lbs. but with a passion for the sport
that will challenge the most experienced salty sailor. He knew every
sail on his dad boat, LP and why and when to use them and will talk
to you about his day and your strategy for your own course like if he
was on the process of understanding what will take to get sailing to
the next level and we are sure he will be soon making sailing news.| . |
