About Gottifredi Maffioli Ropes

Since 1954, when Maffioli supplied the Italian expedition to the top of the K2, their name is linked to great sports challenges. During the last years Maffioli products went aboard the most celebrated boats, racing regattas such as the America's Cup, the Admiral's Cup, the Sardinia Cup, the Route du Rhum, the Whitbread and the Around alone, just to give a few examples.

Due to the excellent properties of Dyneema® SK 75 and to the exclusive HTR treatment performed by Gottifredi Maffioli, this rope combines tremendous strength and extremely low stretch to the typical lightness and durability of Dyneema®. Our innovative heat-set treatment enhances its strength, minimizes stretch and reduces its tendency to creep under high loads, making this rope suitable for any usage onboard, including halyards, afterguys and runner tails. Its performance and durability are furthermore increased by the wide choice of high resistance covers offered by the GM Cover System.

Initially designed for Olympic Class sailors, this product has soon become a favourite for many crews of one-design keel boats. Its unique construction, which combines the outstanding performance of Dyneema and the comfy grip of a special non-slip fibre, makes it a perfect synthesis of strength, durability, light weight and great handling comfort. It does not kink and it runs through block cleanly every time. Swiftcord is recommended for any line that is adjusted frequently by hand.
