About Loos Sailboat Tension Gauges

Loos Sailboat Tension Gauges offers a series of gauges to measure the tension in cables and rods from 3/32 to 3/8 inch in diameter (2.5 mm to 10 mm). These gauges are designed for setting the proper tension in the standing rigging of sailboats and also for other applications such as supporting cables for radio towers, large tents and other structures. The gauges are relatively inexpensive and are designed to be suitable for rugged sailboat service. Loos tension gauges rigging

The gauges measure tension over a range of approximately 5 to 25 % of the breaking strength of the cable or rod and provide an accuracy of + or - 5%. The Loos "Professional Models", PT , RT and 90 & 91 series provide an increasing durability, accuracy and convenience of use when compared to our popular standard models. The gauge may be hooked on the wire and will remain in position while the tension is adjusted.

Loos Tension Gauge 91 Series for 3/16 to 9/32 wire

Suitable for cable sizes 3/16", 7/32", 1/4" and 9/32"

Manufactured of rugged anodized aluminum, the gauge is corrosion -resistant and will provide years of service. Please read the detailed operation instructions that accompany the gauges carefully to ensure complete accuracy. Each Model includes a Loos & Company Cable Diameter Gauge, LOOS part no. GA-4.

Loos Tension Gauge PRO PT2

Suitable for Cable sizes 3/16", 7/32", and 1/4"

An inexpensive yet accurate method of checking cable tension. Ideal for determining loads on sailboat rigging, guy wires, fences, or any application where cable or wires are installed under load. Higher accuracy and easier to use than standard models. The cable can be adjusted while the gauge remains on the cable. All reading are based on 302/304 1x19 S.S breaking strengths.
