Lewmar award winning rope clutch redefined rope clutch technology, and has been continuously reinforced by magazine and independent tests. It remains as one of the few true clutch on the market that can be released under load due to its unique variable geometry handle and the grip pattern of the dominoes.  The D1 rope clutch brings to the day Racer and up to the 32ft cruiser all of the best features of the larger
D2 rope clutch - with an all new rounder profile and handle. The benefits however are not purely aesthetic, the handle has a solid link to the domino cluster, friction controlled action and bright clear decals to identify the line function. Internally the unit has doubling plates under the fastenings and a spring located at the base of the unit well clear of the deck fastenings for easy installation. The two models will now handle lines from 6mm to 12mm.
Holding Power: Full holding power regardless of line type. Conventional braided lines or modern H.M.P.E. like Spectra, Dyneema and Vectran lines hold equally securely.
Reduced Wear: Longer holding pattern than conventional cam clutch gives reduced line wear.
Controlled Release: Pull back handle combined with patented clutch and release mechanism provides controlled release even at full holding load. Full Range Available in single, double and triple configurations.
Line Size: Clutches to hold lines from 6mm / 1/4'' to 16mm / 5/8''.
