Impressive Force5Audio
 The
IC-M72’s
impressive audio output (600mW typ.*) is loud enough to hear in
most any marine environment even over loud engine noise. The speaker's
high sound pressure level delivers loud and clear reception. Background
noise is blown away The microphone is tuned to pick up voice, while
reducing ambient noise. The front facing speaker offers loud, crisp
reception that is easy to hear, even over engine or wind noise.

PLUS (IPX8)
The IC-M72
offers Icom best-ever protection against water intrusion. This radio
has been tested to survive after being submersed in 1.5m (4.9ft) depth
of water for 30 minutes. Be assured, the IC-M302
can handle all types of wet Equivalent to JIS Grade 7. The IC-M504
withstands submersion in up to 1.5m depth of water for 30 minutes.
It is equivalent to the IPX8 standard. All products are rigorously
checked to pass the quality test at the factor. |

LCD
 A
wide viewing angle, high intensity LCD is used in the IC-M72,
offering bright, easy to read characters. The bright LCD backlighting
and backlit keypad is great for night time operation. The wide LCD
shows large channel numbers and channel names of up to 10 characters.
4 levels of LCD backlighting are available. Look at the size of the
LCD with large letters and numbers! The large, easy to see display
has 27 x 43 mm (11/16 x 1 5/8 in.) dimensions, so channel indications
are maximized. 10-character channel names and all settings are displayed
at the same time. The IC-M504
has a 168-charactor, full-dot matrix display that allows you to easily
view a variety of information, such as GPS data, DSC emergency data,
etc. The large buttons and knobs provide user friendly operation. |

Built-in
DSC capability
 The
DSC (Digital Selective Calling) allows you to send a formatted distress
message in an emergency. Position data is automatically exchanged
between the two stations. The DSC watch function monitors Ch 70, while
receiving another channel. It allows you to send a formatted distress
message in an emergency. The position request function indicates a
caller's position. Up to 30 DSC IDs are memorized. DSC uses a unique
ID (MMSI code) similar to a telephone number, allowing you to make
contact with a specific boater or group of boaters in your area. A
total of 100 address IDs can be stored with a 5 character name. |
