Harken Radial Winches
Harken have reached a newlevel of performance
with the introduction of Radial Winch line.
Details you’ll like include reduced wear on the
line: the gripping surfaces of Radial Winches are shaped and do not depend on friction to
hold the line. Also, Harken have completely covered
the winch tops so fingers and clothing don’t
get caught in moving parts. Seasonal
maintenance is now exceptionally easy—
the top lifts out as a single unit, making
reassembly quick and mistake-free. ...more.

Harken Self Tailing Winches
Self-tailing winches are ideal for sheets, halyards, and control lines on racing and cruising boats. The self-tailing mechanism means that one crew member can quickly and easily trim or raise sails.
Two-speed winches enable quick grinding in first gear out of a tack or jibe. When the sheet loads up, the reverse direction gives more power in second gear.
All have Harken " super holding" jaws and one-piece sculpted line guide and peeler. Winches up to the 53 have composite fiber-filled self-tailing jaws that have a gentle angle and tooth design for easy entry and " super holding" with or without load. Larger winches have aluminum jaws. Four springs ensure that jaws open evenly so line is easy to insert.

Harken One, Two and Three Speed Winches
Harken® single-speed winches are the finest small winches made. They feature all-metal bases and bushings or bearings where other brands use plastic bodies and no bearings. The B6 and B8 feature a simple Delrin® bearing sleeve. This bearing is almost maintenance free and requires only occasional cleaning. These winches are ideal for small daysailers and pocket cruisers who want to avoid the hassle of pulling direct from the sheet.
Three-speed winches are popular for sheets on racing boats where fast line speed during tacks is important. The B48.3 is a direct-drive winch with a very fast first gear. Select first gear by depressing the name-plate next to the handle socket. Reverse handle rotation and the winch will automatically move to the next gear in sequence. First gear can be ignored in heavy air.
