The second layer, often referred to as the mid-layer, is the insulating layer. This is the buffer between the warm skin and the cold air outside. It is important that this layer is highly breathable so any moisture can continue its journey into the great outdoors.

Gill i3 Microfleece Mid Layers

Gill's lightweight stretch microfleeces are super soft and close fitting, providing warmth without bulk. Fast wicking and quick drying, the i3 range is ideal when worn as a light mid layer, but can also be worn as a abase layer under any of Gill's technical waterproofs.

Gill i4 Fleece Mid Layers

Gill's i4 fleece range, made from Polartec® Classic 200, is highly breathable and provides vital warmth. The i4 fleece range is technically styled with flat seams for increased comfort e¡when layering.

Gill i5 Crosswind Mid Layers

The i5 Crosswind is a highly functional performance mid layer. Designed to be worn over a base layer and beneath a waterproof garment for thermal insulation. In light conditions the Crosswind can be worn as an outer layer as the waterproof fabric is fully taped. Warmth is provided by an ultra-compact synthetic insulation that will not absorb water and remains warm even when wet. The Crosswind is made from a 2 Dot™ waterproof and breathable laminated fabric.
