specially designed for use in wire rope steering systems for
sailboats. The aluminum Sheaves are ideal for the performance

Sheaves and Sheave Assemblies are available

Sheaves hubs are wider than the rims to prevent side friction
and noise. Sheave
pins are stainless and easily removable for ease of installation or maintenance
and sheaves housing are designed with pin arrestor systems to minimize sheave
pin wear.

atuatorts, such as emergency shut off valves and CO2 systems. Great care should
be taken to insure that the wire and sheave size are matched.

Edson Adjustable Idlers
Are designed for boats having the quadrant on the
forward side of the rudderpost, and the pedestal either forward or aft of the
rudderpost.
They can be used for Radial Drive Steering Systems when the pedestal is located
aft of the rudderpost.

Edson Radial Drive Wheels
Are ideal for boats up to 55' with vertical rudderposts wherecables can
be led directly from the pedestal idler to the drive wheel. Have three hub sizes
to fit rudderposts from 1" to 6". Works well for boats with limited
space beneath cockpit floor. Easy installation. Reduces sheave and steering
friction. Can be used with Pedestal and Bulkhead Steerers.

Edson Standard Quadrants
Are cast Maanganese Bronze or 356-T6
heat treated Aluminum in 18" through 24" radius sizes, the
Edson Quadrant is effective whether mounted fore or aft of the rudderpost.
The quadrants are machined to accept 618 Take-up Eyes, making installation
and adjustment of steering cables easy.

Are designed for boats with
larger diameter rudderposts. Cast in both weight-saving Aluminum and
Manganase Bronze with strengthening webs through the center section f
the quadrant.

Edson Offset Quadrants
Ideal for boats needing extra room on the rudderpost
for the addition of an autopilot, a second steering station, or where
an obstruction exists. In boat with excessively rake rudderposts. They
can be mounted up or down. Hubs are machined on all bearing surfaces
and accept 618 Takeup. Eyes simplifying installation and adjustment of
the
steering cables. The capped hub insures a positive fit and the clamping
action permits installation without having to lower the rudder.

Accept wire Rope up to 3/8" (9.5 mm) in diameter, making adjustment of
steering cable tension easy. For use with both Quadrants and Radial Drive Wheels.

Edson Hub Sprockets
When space is limited, use these non-magnetic
brass and bronze sprockets with hubs on one side. These sprockets accept
American standard Roller Chains. Specify set screws or drive pin when
ordering.

Edson Roller Chain Idlers
Are designed for leading roller
chain around bulkheads and other obstructions. Machined chain rollers
and hubs are aluminum or bronze wit removable pins to simplify installation
and replacement of the chain.

Edson Stuffing Box/Bearing
Combines a rudderpost bearing with on above
the waterline suffing box for rudderpost sizes ranging from 1" diameter
to 4 1/2". Edson recommend fiberglassing the suffing box/bearing
to the top of the tubing when the rudderpost is in place. This
can be done easily using alternating layers of fiberglass mat and
cloth. This makes the post a structural bearing and will help carry
rudder loads with minimal friction.

Edson Tiller Head Fittings
Are hand cast in Edson's own foundry and
have a classic look and feel thet compliments boyh traditional
and modern boats alike. Two sizes for rudderposts 1" diameter
or 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" diameter. They are available in burnished
bronze or chrome plated bronze.
